WENDOVER
MUSIC

Wendover Music was started
in 1995, as an arts development project from St Mary's Church Wendover and
the people of Wendover in partnership with Aylesbury Vale Leisure Services.
There are four concerts each year, in April, May, June and July, with artists
of both national and international acclaim. Concerts take place at St Mary's
Church, Wendover, well known for its superb natural acoustics and recently
(and wonderfully) refurbished.

STEPHEN
HOUGH

Romantic
and virtuoso works by Chopin, Schumann, Brahms and Stephen Hough himself.
Named by The Economist as one of 20 Living Polymaths, British
pianist Stephen Hough is a rare renaissance man of our time. Over
the course of a long and distinguished career as one of the world's
leading concert pianists, he has also excelled as a writer and composer.
He combines an exceptional facility and tonal palette with a uniquely
inquisitive musical personality, and his musical achievements have
resulted in many awards and accolades for his concerts and a discography
of more than 50 recordings.

THE BRODSKY
QUARTET

The
'Wheel of 4Tunes': popular string quartets chosen by chance by the
players and audience.
Since its formation in 1972 the Brodsky Quartet has performed over
2000 concerts on the major stages of the world and released more than
50 recordings. A natural curiosity and insatiable desire to explore
has propelled the group in many artistic directions and continues
to ensure them not only a place at the very forefront of the international
chamber music scene but also a rich and varied musical existence.
Their energy and craftsmanship have attracted numerous awards and
accolades worldwide, while ongoing educational work provides a vehicle
for passing on experience and staying in touch with the next generation.

regular solo performances, she has played and directed orchestras
such as the Royal Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, London Mozart Players,
English Chamber Orchestra, Norwegian Chamber, European Union Chamber

JOHN
HEGLEY, MICHAEL HOROVITZ & GEORGE CHOPPING
tickets
£10 (£1 children), available from Wendover Clock Tower (Tourist
Centre) or (01296) 615753

JOHN HEGLEY cut his teeth on the streets of Hull and London in the 1970s
and 1980s and fronted The Popticians, with whom he recorded for John Peel.
He is a frequent performer on stage, TV and radio, has published ten books
of verse and prose pieces, two CDs and one mug, and is an extremely popular
Edinburgh Festival regular. He is noted for his exploration of such diverse
topics as dog hair, potatoes, and the misery of life.

MICHAEL HOROVITZ is a poetry legend. The youngest of ten children brought
to England from Nazi Germany, he went to Oxford University and whilst
still a student started his magazine New Departures, publishing
Burroughs, Beckett, Stevie Smith, Allan Ginsberg and others. Associated
with the British Poetry Revival, he attained folklore prominence when
he performed at the Roayl Albert Hall in 1965 alongside Ginsberg (a close
friend, as were most of the American beat poets).

GEORGE CHOPPING is customer focused, hard working, honest and flexible
in his approach to duties. He has a full driving license adorned with
endorsements, a Welcome Host Certificate, seven GCSE's at grade C, congenital
heart disease, Crohn's Disease and at times very low self esteem. His
first collection, Living With Crohn's, was published recently.
