PAUL LEWIS

According to Geoffrey Norris of The Daily Telegraph, Paul Lewis "has been building a formidable reputation in recent years."

Paul Lewis is a protege of Alfred Brendel, to whom he first played during a masterclass at the Guildhall School in 1993. In 1994 Paul won second prize in the World Piano Competition in London which generated considerable publicity for him and helped him to develop his career.

piano supplied and maintained by Steinway & Sons

PAUL LEWIS played first in Wendover in 2000, duetting with fellow-pianist Steven Osbourne. Since then his reputation has grown even more, and last year he was winner of the South Bank Classical Music Award and the Royal Philharminc Society's award for instrumental performance. He is much in demand as both soloist and accompanist; he performs often with 'cellist Natalie Clein.
