WENDOVER
MUSIC

Wendover Music was started
in 1995, as an arts development project from St Mary's Church Wendover and
the people of Wendover in partnership with Aylesbury Vale Leisure Services.
There are four concerts each year, in April, May, June and July, with artists
of both national and international acclaim. All concerts take place at St
Mary's Church, Wendover, well known for its superb natural acoustics.


April 10th 2010, 7.30pm

Paul
Lewis is a winner of the South Bank Classical Music Award and
the Royal Philharminc Society's award for instrumental performance.
His programme will include Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt adnMozart. This
is his third visit to Wendover; he performed here last in 2004 to
great acclaim.


May 08th 2010, 7.30pm

The
Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment is a world renowned orchestra
which plays on original instruments to bring out the very best of
classical music as it was intended to be heard. They will perform
a programme of Bach and his contemporaries.


June 12th 2010, 7.30pm

Two
Australian-born cellists who delighted our audience at 2008's Annual
General Meeting with their flair, enthusiasm and communication skills.
Benjamin Frith is a past winner of the Busoni International Piano
Competition and Artur Rubinstein Competition. A varied programme of
music for both two and solo cellos.


July 10th 2010, 7.30pm

A
brilliant young string quartet ["quite exceptional" wrote
The Gramophone, "outstanding" declared the The
Guardian], now on BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists' Scheme.

church of St Mary's has been at the centre of community life in Wendover
since the thirteenth century. Today it continues to be a place where music,
beauty, faith and life meet and take the heritage of the past to future

A.G.M. will take place on Saturday 06th March
2010, 7.30pm. at St Mary's Church in Wendover. Following the formal business,
a recital will be given by Mathew Featherston [flute] and Philip SHannon
[piano]. This recital is sponsored by the Countess of Munster Trust, to
whom we are very grateful.
