WENDOVER
MUSIC

TRUSTEES'

ANNUAL REPORT

for 2001
|

Wendover Music again staged four concerts for the 2001 season, on
Saturday evenings in April, May, June and July at St Mary's Church
in Wendover. The artist programme for the season was:

April
07th Freddy
Kempf (piano)
May 12th Cardinall's
Musick
June 09th Emperor
String Quartet
July 07th City
of London Sinfonia

Each year Wendover Music seeks to encourage young artists and devotes
one concert to this aim; this season Wendover Music supported young
artists in both the first and third concerts.

Programmes included contemporary works alongside standard repertoire.

A total of 715 seats were sold; this figure includes 98 season tickets
(from which Wendover Music derives its membership), and this was very
slightly lower than the total for 2000. The mailing list continues
to grow.

For the Annual General Meeting, which took place on 03rd March and
was attended by 51 members and spouses, members welcomed Margaret
Knight, who gave a delightful entertainment of harp music and songs.

There were six committee meetings throughout the year. The ongoing
season was planned logistically; a questionnaire distributed at concerts
was discussed and the following season's concert programme was planned
as well. The committee also discussed ways of searching for sponsorship
and grants. To this end, a musical evening was arranged on the 24th
August, to which helpers and past sponsors were invited; pianists
Simon Crawford-Phillips and Philip Moore, supported by the Countess
of Munster Musical Trust, gave a recital.

Wendover Music relied greatly on time and skills voluntary given from
the members of the executive committee and those, such as the stewards,
involved in the smooth running of the concerts themselves.

The trustees have approved the trustees' report
above.
